The Civil Wars. John Paul White is AWESOME… and he’s from my home town. I met him when he performed in Florence for his solo album.
For people who love mustaches… and typography. Which is actually really more people than you might think.
One day on the “mutual friends” section of someone’s Facebook page, these pictures appeared side by side. My sister and her husband both have a picture of their soon-to-be born daughter, Abby Brooke, up as their profile picture. They’re such cute proud parents :)
Whoa! It all makes sense now.
Yeah. It’s a Lady Gaga Intermission.
BEHIND THE SCENES OF MAKIN’ MUSIC - for more check fhu.edu/backstage
This year, I feel like the responses to the Makin’ Music emcees have been a little varied. People that know Nate, Emily, and me (if they know me well) wonder what’s going to happen when you put all of those strong personalities up on stage together - a question that I believe has made a few people want to attend Makin’ Music simply to watch a potential mishap. For people who don’t know me well, they’ve probably wondered what on earth I’M doing on stage. “That chick talks?” “What?” Honestly though, it’s come together better than I could have hoped, and I feel pretty confident that we have a really good show. It NEVER would have come together without the hardwork and talent of Brad Montague, though.
This video is a little preview of some of the stuff we’ll be doing… and don’t let the fact that I barely speak in the video fool you… I talk. I do. Promise.
The highly anticipated release of our huge album project “My Heart Is In Haiti” is tomorrow!
Sixteen artists from all over the globe donated music to this, our first Love In Stereo compilation. By purchasing an album you help feed kids in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. We’re excited to share with you the music and can’t wait to share with you stories of the Nutrition Center this goes to helping. Check back tomorrow to pick up your copy!
This makes me happy.
There’s something about walking through the woods that brings out the kid in me. As I maneuver through the low branches and up-springing thorns, this childish hope wells up that I might meet with magical adventures. I’ll stumble upon a long forgotten bandit’s stash of gems and coins, I’ll meet with a giant or a leprechaun or fairies, or somehow, I’ll traipse into a land that is something like, Wonderland, Sherwood Forest, the Shire, or Narnia.
Today I went on an impromptu walk through the woods with my little sister, Harper.
The tunnels of trees made us feel like we were chasing the White Rabbit!
One of these mushrooms makes you grow…
Really, this is a path made by four-wheelers, but to us, is was a hidden path into a place that few people find these days. A place where imagination rules supreme and it wouldn’t be out of place to find monsters roaming around lorded by small boys wearing crowns, or to see cloaked archers peeking from around trees. In MY woods, there is a conglomeration of potential adventures, with a gravel yard in view, the home of Iron Giants, a shipwrecked boat the evidence of untimely floods, hidden sheds, the hideaway for badguys, streams and islands for ruling, train tracks for walking, and just about anything else one could imagine.
This goes with the last post… since I couldn’t get it to embed.
